BIOCHAR

Biochar is charcoal used as a soil amendment. Biochar is a stable solid, rich in carbon, and can endure in soil for thousands of years. It contains mineral ash from the feedstock as well as the fixed carbon - which will be in the form of a carbon char. The transformed carbon in the char is a very absorbent material that contains charged particles which attract nutrients and moisture.

Biochar is bacteria free and is widely recognized as an efficient tool for carbon sequestration and soil fertility.

Biochar may also be used as an adsorbent (such as animal bedding), or purifier (such as water purifier).
